January 11th marked the release date of Cashew Company’s first volume of their journal featuring in depth interviews and impeccable photographs documenting the influential who’s-who of Atlanta’s creative scene. The highly successful event, hosted by local entertainment group Two9, brought out hundreds to support the newly launched publication. Setting the vibe for the night, DJ SpeakerFoxx paid homage to local ATLiens, Outkast, by playing some of their classic hits. Framed images from the journal, which were available for sale, were strategically placed across the gallery walls. Matt Swinsky, winner of the Tribeca Film Festival’s #6SecFilms Vine contest, also had his short horror clips on display. Attendees who purchased a copy of the journal received a complimentary 40 oz. Colt 45 to swig while getting a first-hand glance at the impressive project created by Cashew Co. Diwang at Motion Family sponsored the event and played an important role in creating the show. The support received from those who attended the release party exemplified the sense of camaraderie portrayed throughout the journal with intentions of uniting and inspiring the innovative community of Atlanta.
